Superior Supply Chain Management at Arbiser Machine
Global supply chains have been a hot topic in the national news cycle for the past couple of years, and experts warn that a return to normalcy is “unlikely” in 2022.
We know many of our customers are concerned about what this unpredictability means for them, and we’re here to help. We’re proud to leverage our precision machining capabilities, decades of manufacturing experience, and commitment to problem-solving to assist you with supply chain management.
How Arbiser Machine Helps Manage Customer Supply Chains
A broken part, shipping delay, or vendor complication can wreak havoc on your business at any given moment. A trusted contract manufacturer can serve as an insurance policy against supply chain chaos. Here are some recent examples of how we’ve helped customers navigate supply chain disruptions.
Example #1: Communicating with OEMs about obsolete parts
A customer brought us a tool with a broken component, hoping we could fix it by putting on a new universal joint.
We couldn’t find the specific joint anywhere because, as it turned out, it was not a standard part but a customized one. The OEM initially no-quoted us on a replacement, but we continued the conversation with them. They ultimately sent an incomplete version of the joint for us to customize in our precision machine shop.
What began as an insurmountable problem for our customer was quickly resolved with straightforward conversation between our shop and the OEM. We leveraged our problem-solving chops and precision machining expertise to fix the customer’s tooling.
Example #2: Reverse engineering and material sourcing
One of our customers needed a hydraulic manifold reverse engineered so that they could change the design slightly.
The manifold was made from cast iron, a pricey material that’s difficult to source. The customer couldn’t afford to lose money waiting to put the updated manifold to use. Fortunately, we had a supply of cast iron available at our precision machine shop, so we could get to work making the part immediately.
Another challenge was that the manifold needed to be extremely accurate. If it leaked as much as a teaspoon of oil, it could shut down an entire press, costing the customer millions of dollars. We leveraged our advanced reverse engineering technology to ensure proper functionality and turned the project around quickly.
Example #3: Everyday supply chain management
We had a customer who needed a highly specific material but didn’t want to go through the hassle of bringing on a new vendor. Since we’re already an approved supplier for this customer, we offered to buy the material for them.
This example is a good reminder that the need for supply chain management is ongoing—it’s not only necessary when legacy parts wear out or shipping logistics break down. Having a trusted partner who can help solve your manufacturing problems on a regular basis is key to a healthy supply chain.
Our Commitment to Personal Service
Most companies take pride in their customer service, but we go above and beyond to offer what we call personal service at our Georgia machine shop.
